Kristofer M. Hillegas, DO
Dr. Kristofer M. Hillegas graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in June 2006 with a degree in osteopathic medicine and a master’s degree in biomedical sciences. He then completed his internship and residency training at Aria Health. Prior to entering a cardiology fellowship he worked as a hospitalist at the Aria Health Frankford campus and served as medical adviser for the congestive heart failure committee from January 2010 until June 2012. Dr. Hillegas completed his cardiology fellowship at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015.
Dr. Hillegas has been practicing general cardiology with South Jersey Heart Group and Lourdes Cardiology Associates since June 2016. Currently he is Board Certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and nuclear cardiology with areas of interest including general cardiology and heart failure. His current affiliations include Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, member of American Osteopathic Association, American College Osteopathic Internists, American Society Echocardiography, American Society Nuclear Cardiology, and lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association.
He is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and has research experience in post-operative pain management and stress echocardiography. He enjoys working with and teaching fellows, residents, and students and spending time with his wife and family, outdoor activities, sports, and exercising. Dr. Hillegas has multiple years of experience working with indigent and disadvantaged patients.
